Lukas is a senior analyst on Green Street’s research team, leading coverage of the lodging, data centers, and health care sectors. This includes formal coverage of nearly 20 companies, as well as shadow coverage of the Hotel C Corps, health care operators, among others. In 2017, Lukas initiated Green Street’s coverage of Equinix – the world’s largest data center landlord, and Park Hotels & Resorts – a spinoff of Hilton Worldwide and the second-largest lodging REIT. Lukas developed and introduced the Lodging Demand Indicator, a tool that helps predict the ups and downs of hotel demand growth based on six key variables. He also pioneered Green Street research on real estate disruptor Airbnb and its expected impact on hotel demand. Lukas is frequently quoted in financial and real estate media, including Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, and The Financial Times. Since joining the firm in 2006, Lukas has worked with Green Street's macro, office, industrial, lab space, and self-storage teams. Lukas earned a B.S. in Finance, graduating summa cum laude, from the University of Arizona. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
